QUEST FOR FREEDOM SOLD
2016 Chestnut Mare
AQHA
Sire: Freedoms Dry Doc ST
Dam: Peps Lasting Legend
"Quest" - Was consistently ridden (3-5 times/week) but selling as light riding/broodmare prospect. Possibility to increase workload with time, she has a LH DDFT injury (Feb 2024) and an injury as a 4 year old with residual scar tissue on the back of her thigh that limits that legs range of motion a little but does not impact her work. Video available.
UTD on vaccines/deworming/teeth, and on a regular trim schedule. Easy to admin oral meds/needles. Barefoot but would benefit from front shoes. Easy to catch - walk right up to her in the pasture, trim, tack up, stands tied, has been hauled many times. Trail rode alone and with others. Loves working cows, has been lightly roped off of, and was a barrel horse. No maint, easy keeper. No buck or bolt, but she's looky at certain things.
Not for beginners. She's a red mare with lots of opinions! If she doesn't like something (ie cold baths) she'll be annoyed but she won't be a jerk. She can be soft and relaxed, but she can turn on and get amped up. She'll stay with you and not fight to run off, she's not dirty or unsafe. Very sensitive to leg aids, moving body parts. She's very smart and willing, you just need to show her what you want. She's built very athletic and would make some very nice babies! She loves to go to work and wants to do the right thing. She's not one to avoid being brought up and drag her feet at the thought of working. I've been on her sporadically throughout the summer and have no issues after time off.
